Practical information for visiting the museum.

The Norwegian Fisheries Museum is a museum for the entire family.

The museum is located in Bergen, just 5 minutes from Bryggen, and will give you unique insight in norwegian history.

From 1.6 - 31.8, open every day from 10 - 18



How to get to the museum?

Public busses:

Take buss nr 3, 4, 5, 6, 39 og 83 to the stop called "Sandvikstorget". 

By car:

We have free parking.

Prices 2017:

  • Adult 90 kr

  • Children 0-16 år Free

  • Student 70 kr

  • All year pass 250 kr


  • Groups over 10 people 60 kr per person. 


The boat "Beffen"

Take a mini-cruise to the Fisheries Museum.

The historic ferry “Beffen”  

leaves every hour from Bryggen between 10 am and 5 pm (outside the Hanseatic museum)




First departure from Bryggen: 1100

Last departure in May and September: 1600

Last departure in June, July and August: 1700



First departure: 1125

Last departure in May and September:: 1525

Last departure in June, July and August: 1625



Ticket to the museum and boat both ways: adult kr. 190/children kr 70.

Bergen Card: 10% discount

Boat one way: adults kr. 65/children kr. 35.

Tickets can be bought at the museum, at the Tourist information, and on board the boat.


Museum Shuttle bus

The Norwegian Fisheries Museum, the Hanseatic Museum and Schøttstuene all in one!

The ticket includes a ticket for all three museums, and the shuttle in between museums

Our bus leaves every half hour, and will easily take you to three of the most interesting museums in Bergen
