Practical information for visiting the museum.

The Norwegian Fisheries Museum is a museum for the entire family.

The museum is located in Bergen, just 5 minutes from Bryggen, and will give you unique insight in norwegian history.

June, July and August, every day from 10-18


How to get to the museum?

Public transportation:

Take buss nr 3, 4, 5, 6, 39 og 83 to the stop called "Sandvikstorget". 

By car:

We have free parking.



Prices 2018:

  • Adult 90 kr

  • Children 0-16 år Free

  • Student 70 kr

  • All year pass 250 kr


  • Groups over 10 people 60 kr per person. 


The boat "Beffen"

Take a mini-cruise to the Norwegian Fisheries Museum.

The historic ferry “Beffen”  runs weekends in May, and daily from June

Departure every hour from Bryggen (outside the Hanseatic museum)




First departure from Bryggen: 11.00

Last departure in May: 15.00

Last departure in June, July and August: 16.00



First departure: 11.25

Last departure in May: 14.25

Last departure in June, July and August: 15.25



Ticket to the museum and boat both ways: adult kr. 190/children kr 70.

Bergen Card: 10% discount

Boat one way: adults kr. 65/children kr. 35.

Tickets can be bought at the museum, at the Tourist information, and on board the boat.


Museum Shuttle bus

The Norwegian Fisheries Museum, the Hanseatic Museum and Schøtstuene all in one!

Together, all three museums compliments each other to give you a unique view on Bergen and norwegian history.


Our free Museum Shuttle bus will take you between the Norwegian Fisheries Museum, the Hanseatic Museum, and Schøtstuene. 

If you buy a ticket to the Hanseatic museum and Schøtstuene, you will get a free ticket to the Norwegaian Fisheries Museum!


Departure every half hour from 10.15 from the Hanseatic Museum, until 17.45
