Kafe Hjemom

The museum café Hjemom opens in november. In the meantime, you can buy homemade coocies and coffee in the reception. The café is open on Wednesdays 12-15 until November.

A new operator for Kafe Hjemom

From November 2026, ALF (ArbeidsLivsForberedelse) will take over the operation of Kafe Hjemom at the Norwegian Fisheries Museum.

Owned by the City of Bergen, ALF works with inclusion and work training, and also runs Klosterhagen Hotel at Nordnes.

Together, the museum and ALF aim to develop Kafe Hjemom as a warm and inclusive meeting place — for the neighbourhood, museum visitors and everyone who wants to drop by.

Kafe Hjemom is part of HJEMOM, a larger initiative at the museum creating spaces for community, cultural exchange and encounters across generations and backgrounds.
