Explore historic buildings - daily guided tours!

This summer you can join a guided tour at the museum every day from 1.July-31.August!

The Norwegian Fisheries Museum is located in heritage listed buildings, built to serve as warehouses in the dried fish trade. Dating back between 1732 and 1806, the buildings were placed out in the water to be accessible by boat, and to prevent the spread of fire.

Our daily guided tour let you explore the history of the buildings, and learn more about their original use. As warehouses, these buildings were constructed to accommodate several hundred tons on dried fish, salted herring and fish oil. Join one of our guides on a 30-minute walk across sloping floors, through once decorated hallways, and catch a glimpse of the history that still can be found in the walls themselves!
